ANSWERS FOR FREQUENT EXCUSES
“All religions are basically the same.”
Christianity isn’t a religion. It’s a relationship with Jesus Christ. Religions require man to make a sacrifice to reach that god. Our God made the sacrifice to reach man.
“I believe there are many roads to heaven.”
That’s not what the Bible teaches. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, but by Me.” Jn. 14:6
“I’m not a sinner. I try to be good.”
Rom. 3:23 “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
“There are too many hypocrites in the church.”
If you hide behind that excuse, you are smaller than them. Don’t reject God because of some of His children. They might need to change, but at least they are in the right family.
“I don’t want to give up my friends and good times.”
You can gain the whole world and lose your soul. Mk. 8:36
The only thing you’ll give up is hell and eternal regret.
“Why does God allow evil in this world?”
Freedom of choice is the Creator’s gift to man. Sin originated in man, not in God. Yet at His own cost, a remedy was fulfilled through His Son, Jesus’ sacrifice on Calvary.
Four Eternal Facts:
- You are an eternal spirit. You will live forever somewhere.
- When you stand before God, the only question He will ask you is ”What did you do with My Son?” Reject or accept?
- Lying, stealing, adultery (sins of the flesh) won’t send you to hell. The only sin which condemns a man to eternal hell is rejecting Jesus.
- The greatest motive for salvation is not to avoid hell, but to return to a loving Father.
