The Authority of the Believer
Mt. 28:18 • Ph. 2:9 • II Co. 5:7 • Ps. 119:89
A one-hundred thirty pound policeman can step in front of an eighteen wheeler, blow a tiny whistle and make that truck screech to a halt. Why? The truck has power, but the policeman has authority.
- Jesus Gave His Authority to Believers
- Power over Satan and destructive schemes Lk. 10:19
- Seventy practiced and discovered that it works Lk. 10:17
- Great Commission Mt. 28:18-20 “All authority is given to Me…go into all the world…and I am with you always…”
- Jesus Gave You His Name
- Inherited His name by God and we are joint heirs Hb. 1:1-5
- He achieved the authority of His name by conquest. Col. 2:15
Went to hell and demanded keys of death from Satan Hb. 2:14 - Gave believers those keys to the Kingdom of Heaven Mt. 16:19
- His name is above every name. (Cancer, fear, etc.) Ph. 2:9
- Sooner or later, every knee shall bow. Ph. 2:10
- When you speak that name in faith, Satan cannot tell any difference between you and Jesus.
- God Gave You His Love
- Agape, Gr., Defined – “The unconditional love of God; not determined by a person’s value or performance, but based on the heart of God.”
- Yes, “faith works by love,” (Ga. 5:6) but sometimes you’ll need to love “by faith.” It has nothing to do with feelings.
- This love is in you now if you are a new creation in Christ.
- God’s love changes everything: attitudes, perspectives, hopeless situations.
- God Gave You His Word
- Believing is made simple when we know that it is acting on what God has spoken.
- The written Word is a copy of what God already used to release His power and He gave it to you so that you could do the same.
- His Word upon your lips can do anything that Jesus did.
