Precious Promises

God has given you 7,487 "exceedingly great and precious promises..." II Pt. 1:4

Here's a few just for you.

A Word to Our Singles

Ps. 62:5 • Ps. 84:11 • I Co. 7:34 • Col. 3:1

  1. Advantages
    1. Time to focus on projects and personal goals
    2. Perfect time to save money Pr. 24:27
    3. Develop skills needed for marriage; cooking, budgeting
    4. Time to give towards other relationships, hobbies, etc.
  2. God’s Plan for Singles
    1. Fulfillment comes from knowing God, not a person. Even marriage will not change this foundational truth.
    2. View opposite sex as a brother or sister in Christ.
    3. Focus on fun-for-the-moment instead of “is he the one?”
    4. Focus on becoming ‘Mrs. Right’ instead of searching for ‘Mr. Right.’
  3. Guard Against Sexual Sin
    1. Virgin, defined means “untouched” and “defraud” means “beginning something that you don’t plan to complete as in a sexual activity.”
    2. If he breaks his covenant to God with you before you’re married, he’ll possibly do the same with someone else after marriage.
  4. It’s All About Trust
    Can you trust him/her financially?
Do they tithe to their local church?
    Can you trust him/her sexually?
    Can you trust him/her emotionally?
    Can you support his/her goals?
How do they treat their parents?
How do they treat people they don’t get along with?
Observe their reactions after a major setback or while under stress?
Do they suggest activities that go against your convictions?
Fast forward twenty years and picture them unattractively aging.
An unselfish desire to help them excel in life is foundation for marriage.

Before Adam had a wife, he had a job.
