The Power of Prayer

Je. 33:3 • I Co. 1:9 • Jn. 14:14 • Jm. 5:16

  1. What Prayer is
    1. Talking to your Father God
    2. Listening to your Father God
    3. Being aware of His presence throughout the day
  2. Three Questions
    1. What right do you have? Hb. 4:14-16
    2. In whose authority do you pray? Jn. 14:14
    3. What scripture do you stand on? Jn. 15:7
  3. Six Types of Prayer
    1. Prayer of petition Jn. 14:13-14
    2. Prayer of thanksgiving Ps. 103:1-6
    3. Prayer of agreement Mt. 18:19
    4. Prayer of intercession Rom. 8:26, Eph. 6:18
    5. Prayer of binding and loosing Mt. 18:18
    6. Spiritual warfare Jm. 4:7, Eph. 1:8
  4. Two Prayers Never to Pray
    1. Asking God to do what He has already done.
    2. Asking God to give what He has already promised.
  5. Knowing God’s Will
    1. Studying I Jn. 5:14 develops confidence in your prayers.
    2. God’s will is revealed through His Word.
    3. We learn God’s will by Jesus’ example: healing, deliverance, forgiveness, household salvation.
    4. “If it be Thy will” was never intended for healing, but as a prayer for guidance.
    5. Praying in your prayer language (tongues) guarantees His will is being prayed. Rom. 8:26
  6. Mix Your Prayers with Faith
    1. You’re not a beggar. You’re a believer.
    2. Many prayers are motivated by fear; be offensive. Mt. 3:11
