Finding Your Place in the Body of Christ

God Has a Special Place for You I Co. 12:12
1. That “place” is spiritual, not geographical, so it will flourish in any department.
2. “Be faithful in little…” Lk. 16:10
The Secret of Serving
1. Serving ultimately reveals your fit.
2. Serving promotes growth because it exposes attitudes and motives.
3. Serving is your response to Jesus for what He has done for you. Mt. 10:8b
4. Serving fulfills you.
5. Your love for Jesus is expressed through service in the Body.
Let the Search Begin
1. Attend church saying “Lord, use me,” as well as “bless me.”
2. BWOC Creed:
  “… worshippers of God, lovers of people, givers of hope…”
3. Communicate with leadership your desire to serve.
4. Serve where needed.
The Motivational Gifts Rom. 12:4-7
1. Recognizing your motivations reveal your place in the Body.
  Depending on how God graced you (wired you up), your answer to everything at church is: *see definitions
  - Prophecy – an altar call
  - Serving – a church workday
  - Teaching – a seminar
  - Exhorter – a pep rally
  - Giving – an offering
  - Administration – a things-to-do list
  - Mercy – a hug
2. Everyone is celebrated because each gift reveals a part of God’s nature.
3. Love is the fertilizer that makes your gift grow. Rom. 12:9
4. Never say this: “I can’t do that. It’s not my gift.” Grow up!
