Precious Promises

God has given you 7,487 "exceedingly great and precious promises..." II Pt. 1:4

Here's a few just for you.

Preparing Your Heart for Church

“I’ve set my affection on the house of my God…” I Ch. 29:3

“For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord, and to do it…” Ez. 7:10

So, you’ve had a full week and you’re really tired. Faithfulness to God’s House gets you out of bed and commitment to be godly parents rushes your children through breakfast. Somewhere between the lost shoe and the heated discussion in the car, you wonder if it’s worth the hassle. It is. Here’s a checklist just for you:

_____ IS BEING FAITHFUL TO YOUR CHURCH A PRIORITY?
Read Ps. 73:13 and realize that being in God’s presence renews proper perspective.
Schedule all other activities around church.
“Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Mt. 6:33

_____ EXCITED ABOUT THE FAMILY REUNION?
“I was glad when they said unto me, ‘Let us go unto the house of the Lord.’” Ps. 122:1

_____ DO YOU HAVE YOUR BIBLE, NOTEBOOK AND OFFERING?
“Study to show yourself approved unto God…” II Tm. 2:15
“Bring all your tithe into the storehouse…” Mal. 3:10

_____ I’LL TRY TO ARRIVE EARLY.
Prevent those frazzled nerves and make time to quiet and focus your heart. “Be still and know that I am God.” Ps. 46:10
“Let the peace of God rule in your hearts…” Col. 3:15

_____ WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING GOD TO DO?
“Without faith, it is impossible to please Him… and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hb. 11:6

_____ RESPOND TO PASTOR’S SPIRIT-LED INVITATIONS.
“…lift up holy hands” I Tm. 2:8
“Bring my people to the altar and I will meet them there.” Ex. 20:24

_____ I’M READY TO BOTH GIVE AND RECEIVE.
“Beloved, let us love one another…” I Jn. 4:7
“Let him who is taught the Word share in all good things with him who teaches.” Ga. 6:6
